SUMMARY

No Regulation on Nannies Scares Parents?

Nanny is not regulated in Hong Kong. They are not required to complete Certificate in Infant and Child care Worker Training Course. The number of children under their care has no restriction. It is not necessary to evaluate nanny's domestic environment. Against Child Abuse of Hong Kong points out that it is difficult to reveal domestic child abuse committed by nannies. In addition to feeding and taking care of children, nannies are required to take care of their own families. Sometimes, they cannot keep an eye of the children all the time. It is inevitable for children to have accidents. How should parents choose between taking care of their children themselves and resorting to nannies?
