SUMMARY

The Answer was written by Bei Dao in 1976. It was the first Misty Poem being published. I appreciate Bei Dao expressing his disappointment of the society at that time. His complaint is intense, shocking and vivid. Currently, Hong Kong social contradictions emerged. Those in power ignore public opinions which triggered my feelings. Therefore, I hope to express my feelings through the literary content of this poem and the fluid and expressive brush strokes in my semi-cursive calligraphy. Meanwhile, the casual seals impressions, with the 'famous' (infamous) sayings of those in power, complement Bei Dao's poem in a sarcastic tone.
