SUMMARY :

The video depicts a board game in the style of the Monopoly series. The protagonist wants to have a cool pair of glasses. At first he is advised to study hard at school and learn to design his own glasses. When that fails, he is told to work hard and earn enough money to buy a pair. Will he succeed?

FACULTY PICK :

Exaggeration is a key in animation to amplify an idea. This story has cleverly used a metaphor of a game to achieve the exaggeration effect. The up and down of a human life is fully manifested through the game play of the main character. With the appropriate out-of-proportion set design and cartoony style of movement, the story was taken to a level of surrealism and yet retained the virtue of the original message. The downside of this animation is the abrupt ending in which no clear character transformation is seen. This kind of loosen end has left an incomplete experience to the audience.
