Art. Freedom (Fake. Freedom)

Is Hong Kong’s lack of creative outlets due to Hong Kongers’ lack of creativity, or is it due to lack of freedom of expression? The umbrella movement unleashed a torrent of creativity. This contradicted the description of Hong Kong as a “cultural desert.” Artists such as Kacey Wong and Justin Kwok discuss the difficulty the arts community faces in that there is distrust for government-funded resources for developing the arts, for fear that this may usurp freedom of expression.
