Chinese is Hong Kong’s official language, but for many minority students, continuing their studies may be problematic if they can’t read Chinese. Hinla teaches students Chinese. She attempts to remove the barriers inhibiting minority students from learning to read Chinese. Is there any room for changing the current system, or are the courses already working out for the students? 中文是香港的法定語文,近九成人都使用廣東話來溝通。如果不懂中文,升學或就業也有困難。少數族裔學童,即使入讀主流學校,要追上中文課程,並不容易。教師軒拉是過來人,深切體會他們只會說不會寫的苦況,幫助他們掃除中文學習的障礙。……政府提出第二語言學習架構,卻沒有制訂相關課程。沒有課程作參考,志願機構感到有心無力。這些學童要融入社會,學好中文是非常重要。課程是否適合他們呢?當中有沒有改革的空間呢?
