In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of runaway teens in Hong Kong. Disharmony caused by a widening generation gap is believed to be the major reason behind this trend. More communication between parents and children is the key to solving the problem.
近年，香港青少年離家出走有上升的趨勢。社會風氣急劇轉變，兩代有不同的價值觀，亦缺乏時間彼此瞭解，容易造成隔膜或衝突。當子女感到父母偏心時，對家庭的歸屬感會減低；青少年最怕遭人冤枉，若家長產生這種誤會，容易令他們有離家的衝動。父母應了解子女的情緒及心態，子女也要主動與父母溝通，這樣才可以令家庭生活和諧。
