The Hong Kong Government hopes to develop local creative industries and position Hong Kong as a fashion hub for the region. However, the local fashion industry does not get enough support from the Government, and many young talents eventually leave the profession. This plan still has a long way to go.
特區政府要發展創意工業，認為香港時裝界的條件最成熟、最有潛力打入國際市場，於是訂立目標讓香港成為亞太區時裝中心。可惜政府幫助業界有效的措施並不多，年輕時裝設計師唯有自力更生，有潛質的人才因得不到支援而漸漸流失。這數十年來，全球的時裝業發展迅速。香港要成為時裝中心，媲美一些外國城市，還有一條漫長的路要走。
