What to Do with Leftovers?
Leftovers can be turned into organic fertilizer or even used in power generation after recycling. However, the level of food waste recycling is rather low because of high operating costs and inadequate facilities.
廚餘棄置堆填區，分解所產生的物質，造成溫室效應和環境污染。廚餘回收再造，變成有機肥料，可以用於園藝，也可以出口到外國。廚餘經過厭氧發酵，產生的沼氣可用作發電用途。回收廚餘的成本高昂與配套不完善，屋苑、食肆參與的數量並不多。市民把垃圾分類及回收，意識仍然十分薄弱。廚餘是資源，還是垃圾，只是一線之差。
