Cicada frustrated with his weird voice sleeps through the summer but gets mistakenly dug out, in early spring, by Squirrel who seeks nuts to restore a burnt forest. Seeing Squirrel fighting in vain against greedy birds, Cicada, surprisingly, drives away the birds with his strange voice. Such unusual encounter brings about an unusual partnership, along with another end.

生而為蟬真的很抱歉呢，牠想。一隻為自己歌聲而沮喪的蟬選擇了沉睡下去。偶爾之下一隻松鼠把蟬當做橡實挖了出來，把牠再次喚醒。蟬被引領到一個與牠從不相干的國度，卻從沮喪中發現自己另一般的潛能，同時松鼠發現蟬可助自己回復昔日森林，於是造就了這對不一樣的拍檔，迎向另一終結。
