Housewife is not an Easy Job.
In order to take care of their children and families, many women give up their careers and become housewives. Their lives revolve around household chores, and they usually have poor self-images. Middle-aged women also find it difficult to re-enter the job market. The Hong Kong Homemakers’ Alliance strives for the right of local housewives.
家庭主婦照料孩子，放棄事業，過著刻板而沉悶的生活。她們以家庭為中心，沒有私人空間，生活的圈子日漸狹窄。她們為家庭犧牲，卻得不到家人的欣賞，自我形象及價值偏低。中年婦女再就業，可以選擇的職業並不多。政府提供的培訓課程，不少是照顧者的工作。「香港主婦聯盟」認為家庭主婦也是一份職業，為她們爭取應有的權益。
