Health Care Products Come to Our Rescue?

There is absence of regulation regarding the misleading advertisement of health care products in Hong Kong. A local patients' rights group has urged the Food and Health Bureau to follow the practice of other developed countries, and step up regulation of food and medicines.
保健產品種類繁多,公司為了脫穎而出,使用廣告以虛假的資料誤導市民。香港的廣播條例,要求電視、電台廣告內容要真確,其他媒體則沒有類似法例。消費者受騙,只好向消委會投訴。有藥劑師指出,保健產品廣告誤導讀者,危害消費者健康。病人權益幹事建議,政府應借鑒外國經驗,設立食品及藥物管理局註冊制度。市民不受廣告誤導,唯有提高警覺。
