Tianamen Square Massacre, History Repeats Itself?

Mr. Lam Yiu Keung was the representative lawyer for two young defendants during the Criminal Case No. 480 of 2017. The Umbrella Movement served as a reminder to him of the Tiananmen Square Protests in 1989. Back then, Mr. Lam attended the protests as a representative of the student union, and describes the scenes that he witnessed there. Regardless of whether it was the June 4th Memorial, community centre events, or school presentations, Mr. Lam would always openly share his experiences with his audience. Mr. Cheung Ka Man was the Central Affairs secretary at the Hong Kong University, and describes his memory of the student movement. He placed advertisements in newspapers to support the student movement, and attempted to break the information blockade in the mainland. In 1997, Mr. Cheung wrote a book about contemporary development in China. While doing research, his opinion of the Tiananmen Square Massacre shifted… The reported number of deaths on June 4th was widely speculated and differed greatly between word among the public. Albert Ho Chun Yan, Chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China, believes that the crackdown by the Chinese Government caused large numbers of casualties in an attempt to conceal the truth. Thirty years ago, the June 4th incident brought them together; thirty years later, in the same situation, they are unable to reunite again...
