Thailand Born Chinese are Learning Chinese Language.

The learning of Chinese has been revived within the overseas Chinese community in Thailand because of the increasing importance of China on the world stage. In the past, there was little incentive to learn the language due to Thailand’s assimilation-based education policy for local Chinese.
泰國的華人僑團是世界上最多的。半個世紀以來,他們走了不少艱辛路。二次大戰前後,泰國實施同化政策,切斷華人文化的根,造成五十歲以下的華僑不懂得中文,導致當地華文教育出現斷層。中泰恢復建交,促進兩國的文化交流,泰國大力提倡學習華文,中醫亦獲得合法地位。流行資訊的傳播及中文地位的提升,令年輕一輩熱衷學習中文。
