At every midnight, hustle and bustle of 24-hour restaurants, McDonald in particular, remains their charisma to abet a group of people to stay. Regarded as McRefugees, they are forced to leave their homes in order to escape something. Doing nothing with the restaurant, they perhaps just buy a cup of coffee, and then sit, sprawl, slouch, yawn, nap, sometimes contemplate, meditate, sometimes play mobile games, chat with others or mimic to themselves, making themselves as at home. I find no connection between them; however, the anomaly of their life pattern strikes me that they are no stranger to one another because they are congruous to congregate at every single night in pursuit of personal space out of their families. Having no idea about their backgrounds, I intuit that their presence aims to search a moment to palliate the pains and stresses from our society. Through my painting, I intend to unveil the misery of our society by delineating the lamination of the nighttime of theirs.

夜幕低垂,通宵營業的麥當勞仍然燈火通明,吸引來自五湖四海的客人,夜深仍留連於此,被社會稱為「麥難民」。他們或坐或臥,或發呆或睡覺,或聊天或喃喃自語,彷如在家般悠然自得。看似互不相干,但多晚同眠共處於一室之內,使不同的陌路人變得熟悉。這個微妙的空間,讓他們從城巿的壓逼中得到片刻的喘息,安寧地渡過一個個晚上。
我希望透過描繪這個地方的情與景,來細說這些深夜一族的故事。
