There are still no clearly stated regulations for street performances in Hong Kong. Street performers are often removed from their venues by police and have little opportunity to develop their careers.廟街街頭唱戲是香港特色之一，給普羅大眾娛樂和消遣。街頭藝人細訴該類唱戲的盛衰。近年，港九湧現不少街頭表演的場地。雖然香港沒有法例阻止街頭表演或賣藝活動，但是街頭藝人經常遭受警方驅趕，只有文化中心是唯一的合法表演場地。時代轉變，維持生計的街頭唱戲發展到各式各樣的街頭表演，甚至出現商業機構和表演團體合作演出。
